Xander banished her plate to the kitchens to be cleaned with a flick of her wrist and followed Kali with Midnight settled comfortably on her shoulder. Hoping against hope that the local slime wouldn't be there tonight.

[Hakkaeni]

((Ack! I missed the cue.... Was probably in the train or sleeping. Be damned jet lag! Be damned!!! ))

(( Don't worry Hakkaeni. Just jump in any time...Jet lag sucks...I've dealt with it too. Technically Kali is still showing Jayce around so you can jump in here if you like?))

Whoa, she knows magic too. Jayce thought to himself as they walked away from the crowed mess hall, Better stay on Xander's good side then.

With great practice, Jayce balanced the small sleeping dragon on his head as they walked down the hall. He was walking with the girls but his mind was miles away. He wondered if the people of the small village he left behind will be alright and if they had known that he wasn't going to return. He worried that he never figured out what caused the swamp to be there in the first place. Something abnormal was happening in Troia and he failed to find out what exactly. He had asked Aeraganon about it before but he really didn't know the why or the how. He was just glad to no longer be stuck living near the river or having to hunt in the ocean.

"Drinking salt water is not meant for my kind," he had told him that day, "We can do it but only for a limited time before we start to get sick."

It was just as distressing when the sprites didn't know either.

Then again, they might just be toying with me again. He thought to himself as he got a serious look on his face, It's a good possibility that they do know and just didn't feel like telling me.

He was so into his thoughts that he had inadvertently shut himself out from most of his surroundings...

Jenst, tired after a day's worth of training, had just realized as he was leaving the mess hall and heading for the barracks that he had, again, forgotten his exercise lance on the training grounds. Not that he was such an airhead but he apparently had a subconscious rejection of the lances for he kept on forgetting any he was given. In his room the morning when he went for training, at the end of the training sessions and at the camp whenever they had field training. It only happened with lances, never did with swords or daggers or anything not-lances. He needed to get it from the training grounds to clean it and put it in its place where it would be safe from rain and the very rare theft.

"Drat it! I almost sure I left the key to the locker in my room.", he grumbled rummaging through his pockets to check if it was there.

He was still walking head deep in his satchel when he bumped into a person that was walking slowly in the middle of the corridor "Whooops!", he began, " Sorry .S'my fault I wasn't looking. Are you okay?"

That's when he realized he didn't recognize the face which meant that he could be one of the castle workers but he didn't have the look of one. "Hmmmm. You're... the new dragon knight recruit that came here today, right? Nice to meet you. I'm Jenst."

((At last! I jumped in! Victory is mine! Take that jet lag!))

Kali subconciously steadied Jayce with one arm and then turned to face Jenst. "Oh, hey, Jenst."

[Yllamse]

"Whooops!", he began, " Sorry .S'my fault I wasn't looking. Are you okay?"

That's when he realized he didn't recognize the face which meant that he could be one of the castle workers but he didn't have the look of one. "Hmmmm. You're... the new dragon knight recruit that came here today, right? Nice to meet you. I'm Jenst."

Jayce worked to keep the sleeping Tiarc'rie on his head; first from running into the young man and from Kali's intervention. With a sigh of relief, he still felt her on his head and it seemed that she was still sleeping.

"Hi," he managed to say sheepishly, "my name is Jayce, nice to meet you."

[Hakkaeni]

"Hi Kali and Xander", Jenst greeted back, "So that's where you've been all day long, Kali! Showing the new guy around, right?"

He took a good look at the newcomer, he didn't have much of a warrior feeling about him but he did seem like someone who'd spent a fair time outside, so Jenst didn't quite know what to make of him. Well, it takes all kind of people to make a world is what mom used to say, he mind shrugged.

Then he remembered the original reason for his hurrying, finally got a hold of his key that had hidden in the depths of his satchel behind some scrolls and the various items he carried as everyday things. "Oh, er, guys, I gotta go. I've got to put my lance back in place," he explained, "S'been nice stumbling upon you Jayce." He was about to leave when he remembered something. "Say, Jayce, are you done cleaning your room? I can help you when I come back?", he suggested.
