It's an RP... we'll figure out what it's about later.

(For those of you unfamiliar with Garchen/Garkhen, here's his Figment Registry page: http://figmentregistry.wikidot.com/figm ... en-sem-dor.

I'm still debating about where these woods are. I was thinking outside Baron, for the sake of having a common point of reference, but if someone wants to volunteer their world, or if placing it somewhere on my world (Draezoln: http://figmentregistry.wikidot.com/figments:draezoln) is fine with any interested parties, that would be fun, too)

Garkhen was sitting in one of his favorite places--a library. His library, as a matter of fact. His collection had grown too large even for enchanted bags long ago, and now that he'd finally found a home, he had, of course, set aside the largest room in it to house his books. Not that there weren't still some in chests in other rooms and such--the rare times he found himself with time on his hands was usually spent reading, as he was now, rather than organizing. He'd get to unpacking those books when he finished the ones he'd already unpacked.

Suddenly, he stood up, picking up Silverflame, which was never far from his side even in the safety of his own home. He wasn't quite sure what had triggered his reflexes, but long experience had trained them to the point that Garkhen trusted them. Had there been a sound? Perhaps... like a door quietly opening?

Cautiously, Garkhen made his way towards the front door of his home, his draconic eyes adjusting quickly to the darkness outside of his well-lit library. He must have been reading for longer than he thought if it was already so dark outside.

There it was again! Garkhen whirled, his senses straining to identify what had caused that soft sound. He couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, yet he had an odd feeling that someone was nearby. He started quietly murmuring a prayer to Bahamut to strip away concealment from his enemies.

Before he could finish, he felt a sudden pain in his shoulder and heard the clatter of a dagger hitting the wall behind him. Without stopping to think, Garkhen leapt forward and was rewarded with the feeling of another body and an "Oof!" as he tackled his invisible assailant. Whoever it was started writhing in the Warder's grasp, chanting what was obviously a spell while Garkhen chanted a prayer of his own.

The other man (or at least, he sounded like a man) finished his chant first. Garkhen found himself suddenly in diluted sunshine, filtered through the leaves of a forest. While he was still recovering from the shock of finding himself elsewhere, the man broke free of his grip, cursing, and started to run, his footsteps given away by the fallen leaves on the forest floor. Garkhen gave chase, but the footfalls soon ended, and Garkhen could find no more sign of whoever it was that had left him here.

After concluding that he was alone for the moment, Garkhen spared a moment to call upon the healing powers of his god to heal the minor scratch on his shoulder (apparently his assailant hadn't been very good at throwing daggers). Then he took stock of his situation. He was... somewhere, in the woods, with nothing but Silverflame, his holy symbol, and his nice, soft tunic (which now had a small tear in the shoulder). Someone who apparently wished him ill was either somewhere around here, or had returned magically to his home to continue whatever it was they had been doing there. And he had no clue where he was.

Garkhen sighed, then shrugged philosophically, gauged the position of the sun, then set off in a direction, hoping to find something or someone that would at least tell him where he was. Hopefully whoever he found would give him time to prove that his disposition did not match that of a full blue dragon. In time he found a path that looked as if someone had walked on it recently (judging from the footprint in a muddy patch), and decided to follow it.

(Whoever wants to is welcome to jump in now.)

(YES JOIN!! I can promise I won't ignore you, though I can't say I've had too much luck with keeping RP's from dying... but they're always fun while they last)

((Ok, but don't expect really long posts. I don't have that kind of focus. and beware my terrible writing.
And this was really the only thing I could think of.))

Kel plotted through the thick undergrowth, following the trails that the creatures native to the forest had forged long ago. A girl no more then 15, with tangled long withe hair that slowly faded to green at the tips. Her cloths where torn, dirty, and a bit small, but, then again, so was she.
She picked her way carefully, trying not to slip on the muddy ground. There was a stream near here; barely more then a trickle coming out of the earth, but it would be enough to stay her thirst. And there was always a chance that an animal had wandered into one of her pits. If it hadn't collapsed first. Mud had a tenancy of doing that. She knelt down and cupped the muddy water in her hands, attempting to consume it before the taste reached her senses.

(Short posts are fine. The only reason mine was so long was because I wasn't interacting with anyone else's character and I needed to establish how in the world Garkhen got... wherever he is)

Garkhen paused for a moment. It sounded like someone or something else was traveling through the underbrush nearby. He started to head towards the sound quietly, then decided that it was probably best to not surprise whoever it was, and so walked normally.

It was not long before he saw the source of the noise. A young girl, who, from the look of things, had been in these woods for some time. Deciding that it was probably best to speak before she made her own conclusions about him based on his rather... formidable appearance, Garkhen spoke.

"Greetings, child. I hope my approach has not caused you any distress, for I assure you I mean you no harm. In truth, I am..." Garkhen laughed a little bit at his predicament, a deep, pleasant sound, "a bit lost."

Kel stood up, regarding the stranger before her with a sense of bewilderment. Her green and gold eyes squinted as she tried to come to terms with something being so tall without branches and leaves. After several minutes she spoke. Hesitantly at first, as though she rarely talked. "Lost?" She tilted her head, looking puzzled. "What do you mean?" Her voice was flat, yet it had a slight trill as though she could break into song at any moment.

(How short is Kel if she thinks Garkhen's tall? He's only four foot nine or so.)

Garkhen stood quietly as the Kel examined him, hoping that she wasn't the type to judge based on the color of his scales. As he waited, he took the opportunity to study her more closely, as well. Her odd hair and eye colors made him wonder if he had been wrong to think of her as a human, though he wasn't quite sure what she would be if she wasn't human, and her general appearance made him wonder if perhaps she lived here in the woods.

Her question simply served to strengthen that hypothesis. "I am afraid that I do not know where I am in relation to places I have been before. This forest is unfamiliar to me. Would you, perchance, know of the closest settlement to this place?"

(I'm probably going to contribute something later, when I'm more awake. Though, I probably missed it, but where is that forest exactly? Was it decided if it was near Baron or somewhere else?)

(I believe it's still indeterminate... though Maracate may have something in mind?)

Roleplaying! The woods near Baron would be fine with me- actually, that is where Veralyn is currently, and I was planning on using her. Uh, Almonihah? My computer's blocking your figment page (it's the school's computer, it tends to do that to different types of sites), just so you know. Can you give his physical appearance?

"Haiya!" Veralyn lunged at her imaginary foe with her staff- and slipped on a patch of mud. She managed to twist her staff out from under her, but that meant she had only one hand to catch herself with, and ended up doing a controled faceplant into the damp earth. "Owww," she mumbled, picking herself up and ineffectively trying to brush off her clothes. Picking up her staff she sat down deciding her workout was done for today.

As she sat unbraiding and recombing her waist-length silver hair (which had a tendency to go wild with physical exertion), she suddenly felt a strong burst of energy nearby, with a feel that made her drop the comb in surprise. ~Whaaaa....dragon?~ Vera had only felt a dragon once before, but it was unmistakable. Only...this time it felt different. Strange enough that she barely caught the feel of the other presence- human, she thought. Not that whoever-it-was mattered with a maybe-dragon around. Not bothering to rebraid her hair, Vera picked up the comb and her staff and headed off quickly toward the not-exactly-dragon feel.

(FYI, since I couldn't figure out a way to put it in the post, Veralyn is 5' 3", looks about sixteen or so, and has sea green eyes. And yes, she is a bit fixated on dragons- long story. She wears a white tunic, green vest, and gold-brown pants and boots.)
My sanity's on vacation- if you have a message, please leave it with the figments.
