Sometimes, I read a comic, or watch tv, or play a game and see a person and/or character that looks a lot like one of my figments. Sometimes, it's purely a coincidence, other times, I might actually find an element about that person/character that is so neat that I decide to borrow it. I'm sure it happened to you too, so here, we can have a thread to share about our figment look-alikes.
I'm going to start with some of mine.
Takara: Ceres from Ayashi no Ceres
- Takara is a character of mine that I've had since the late 90's, and she's had many incarnations during that time, but the long, black hair and golden eyes were always present. Ayashi no Ceres is a manga by Yuu Watase that I discovered sometime around 2001, and the titular Ceres has always been the one I pointed at when people asked me "Can you show me an example of what does Takara look like?" and I didn't have my dA gallery yet.
There are some elements of their stories that are similar, too, but it's only because the Japanese legend Ayashi no Ceres is based on is one of many myths that I have used as an inspiration to create the background and mythology of Serenis. Their personalities and the plots are different enough that people with a minimum of brain power will realise one is not a complete rip-off of the other.
Frida: Kristanna Loken
- Especially as she looks in Ring of the Nibelungs. The whole Norse look and everything. But even without that, she's the perfect Frida look-alike. 'Nuff said.
Lowell: Mika
- Well, no, Lowell is not a pop singer like Mika is, but the poofy, curly hair, twiggy build, and boyish look are spot-on.
